Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff

In our unwavering commitment to honor Hispanic heritage and lay the foundation for the San Angelo Hispanic Heritage Museum, we annually host a pivotal media event on the steps of City Hall. This event serves not only as a vibrant celebration of Mexican American musicianship but also as the official kickoff for Hispanic Heritage Month. Adorned with the rich tapestry of our culture, the event features significant proclamations at both the City Council and the event itself, where a distinguished local figure presents a historical overview that ties National Hispanic Heritage Month and to the commemoration of Mexico’s fight for independence on Diez y Seis (September 16, 1810).
